Artist’s Statement
I’ve had a lifelong fascination with the compelling ways objects and shapes interact to capture my attention. Is it the texture, the shape, the interplay between elements? Color combinations, in particular, can engage me for hours, and they often inspire the first steps of my artistic practice. Interior design was my professional home and creative outlet for many years. It provided a powerful platform for self-expression and a natural path to making art.
Abstract collage gives meaning and focus to my design sense now. It is the ideal medium for composing an infinite combination of colors and shapes. By handing-painting papers, choosing vintage materials, and exploring how to arrange them, I like to think of this process as engaging in a tango of addition and subtraction that is guided by my own abstract rhythms. This is a welcoming and forgiving process that allows me to take risks and experiment. And to see what happens next!
